JPSA to host 'Advances in Laser Micromachining' technology seminar

Feb. 16, 2011
J. P. Sercel Associates Inc. (JPSA) will host a technology seminar highlighting laser-processing techniques applicable to the solar, LED, semiconductor, microelectronic manufacturing, and biomedical industries.

Manchester, NH--J. P. Sercel Associates Inc. (JPSA) will host a technology seminar highlighting laser-processing techniques applicable to the solar, LED, semiconductor, microelectronic manufacturing, and biomedical industries. The seminar, to be held at the Courtyard Marriott, Raleigh-Durham Airport (Raleigh-Durham, NC) on March 1 will be the first in the 2011 series of seminars offered by JPSA.

"The JPSA Applications Laboratory is continually developing new laser-processing techniques in response to requests from customers from a broad range of industries," said Charlie Cuneo, JPSA's president. "The JPSA Technical Seminar series is our opportunity to share details of these novel and enabling micromachining processes with researchers, engineers, and managers."

The guest speaker at the seminar will be Robert Karlicek Jr. from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (Troy, NY), who will present recent work on LED lighting. Karlicek is currently the Director of the Smart Lighting Engineering Research Center at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, an NSF and industry-funded program exploring advanced applications for next-generation lighting.
