CVI Technical Optics receives The Queen's Award for Enterprise, International Trade category

Onchan, Isle of Man--CVI Technical Optics, part of the global CVI Melles Griot Group, announced that it was awarded the Queen's Award for Enterprise 2008 in the International Trade category.

The company manufactures and sells high-energy laser optics and etalons under the CVI Melles Griot brand, with the customer base spread across the globe. The products are used in a wide range of applications: laser material processing (photolithography, annealing, bending, cutting, marking, welding, as examples), medical applications, aerospace, and research.

Helmut Kessler, general manager, commented, "I am delighted that our company has received the Queen's Award. It is the highest honour that can be bestowed on a company in the British Isles and it shows that manufacturing is well and alive in the Isle of Man, able to compete successfully on an international level.
