Laser Quantum acquires Gigaoptics

Solid-state laser maker Laser Quantum has acquired Gigaoptics, which develops and manufactures Ti:sapphire gigahertz femtosecond lasers and oscillators.

Solid-state laser maker Laser Quantum has acquired Gigaoptics (Konstanz, Germany), which develops and manufactures Ti:sapphire gigahertz femtosecond lasers and oscillators.

The acquisition will provide sales and support for Laser Quantum's customers in the German-speaking territories and bring new products with new capabilities to scientists and researchers working in photonics and biophotonics, according to Dr. Lawrie Gloster, Laser Quantum's CEO.

Gigaoptics will remain based in Konstanz, and will be renamed Laser Quantum GmbH.
