PRESS RELEASE

Excelitas Technologies Introduces Its New LynXTM Silicon Photomultiplier (SiPM) Module for Low Light Level Detection

LynXTM SiPM Module offers outstanding sensitivity from near-UV to NIR wavelengths and is well-suited to demanding life sciences and analytical measurement OEM applications

WALTHAM, Mass. and Montreal, Canada – Excelitas Technologies, a global technology leader focused on delivering innovative, customized optoelectronics to OEMs seeking high-performance technology solutions, announced the introduction of its new Silicon Photomultiplier (SiPM) Module, under the brand name LynXTM, expressly designed to meet state-of-the-art analytical measurements needs.

The LynXTM SiPM Module (LynX-A-33-050-T1-A) is a compact, easy-to-use, analogue module based on Excelitas’ new C30742 Series low noise, ultra-fast timing resolution, low cross-talk SiPM chips. The LynXTM SiPM Module offers an attractive alternative to traditional Photomultiplier Tubes (PMTs) for a variety of Analytical Instrumentation and Life Sciences applications including Fluorescence measurement and Flow Cytometry.

Excelitas’ LynXTM Silicon Photomultiplier Module consists of a single-stage TE-cooled detector head, DC-DC power supply, and a low-noise transimpedance amplifier. It contains a 3x3 mm2 active area SiPM with 50x50 µm2 microcells for optimum dynamic range and photon detection efficiency (PDE).

“Excelitas’ LynXTM Silicon Photomultiplier Module was designed with significant customer input and is an important new addition to our growing range of Low Light Level Detection (L³D) offerings based on high-performance solid state detectors,” said Michael Ersoni, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Excelitas Technologies’ global detection business.

Excelitas’ LynXTM SiPM Module is available as a standard product and Excelitas also offers customized Low Light Level Detection Modules tailored to OEM application requirements.
