IDEX completes purchase of Precision Photonics

Lake Forest, IL--IDEX has completed the acquisition of Precision Photonics for $20 million. PPC specializes in optical components and coatings for applications in scientific research, aerospace, telecommunications, and electronics manufacturing.

Lake Forest, IL--IDEX (NYSE:IEX) has completed the acquisition of Precision Photonics (PPC; Boulder, CO) for $20 million. PPC specializes in optical components and coatings for applications in scientific research, aerospace, telecommunications, and electronics manufacturing. PPC was founded in 2000, by scientists-turned-engineers from NIST and JILA.

IDEX is an applied solutions company specializing in fluid and metering technologies, health and science technologies, dispensing equipment, and fire, safety and other diversified products. PPC will operate in IDEX’s Optics and Photonics platform, within the Health and Science Technologies segment, where it joins previous photonics acquisitions CVI Melles Griot (Albuquerque, NM), Advanced Thin Films (ATFilms; Boulder CO), and Semrock, (Rochester, NY).
