Albuquerque, NM, September 27, 2004--CVI Laser has won a contract valued at over $1 million to supply mounts for laser optic assemblies to the National Ignition Facility (NIF) operated by Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL). The contract, which runs through 2007, comprises a variety of custom-designed mounts optimized to reduce wavefront distortion for the project's Injection Laser System.
"We are pleased to be chosen as a key supplier for the groundbreaking work being performed at NIF. We are particularly excited that we were chosen for our
mounting/assembly technology. We have very good mounts which generate the least wavefront distortion in the industry," said Bob Soales, vice president of sales and marketing at CVI.
Serving semiconductor, biotech, industrial, commercial and research industries, CVI combines 30 years of optics manufacturing expertise with precision machining and mechanical design to produce integrated opto-mechanical assemblies.
"Our OEM customers look to our optical technology leadership position and integration capabilities to add value, shorten design cycles and improve quality of their products. This contract validates our leadership position in the design and manufacture of low distortion hardware for the optical industry," Soales said.
