PRESS RELEASE

PORTABLE FLUE GAS ANALYZER MONITORS UP TO 9 GASES AND 17 KEY MEASUREMENT PARAMETERS

Lancom 4 from Land Instruments Handles All Boiler and Pollutant Gas Applications

DRONFIELD, ENGLAND, April 2011— A compact portable flue gas analyzer that can monitor up to nine different gases and 17 measurement parameters has been introduced by Land Instruments, a unit of AMETEK, Inc. The new Lancom 4 analyzer weighs less than 15 pounds and is housed in a single robust enclosure for ease of use and reliability in harsh boiler and stack environments.

The unit provides high accuracy of combustion efficiency and monitoring of emissions in boiler servicing, power generation, cement kilns, paper mills, glass manufacturing, municipal waste incineration, oil and gas pipelines and refineries. It can be used as a backup in situations requiring continuous monitoring, allowing operations to continue in the event of failure in the primary system.

A wide screen, high-color display allows ease of use, and USB communication allows for easy transfer of data to a PC or memory stick. Multiple languages are supported, including English, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Chinese; additional languages are available.

Nine gas measurements include: CO (Low), CO (High), O2, CO2, NO2, SO2, H2S and Total Hydrocarbons. Key measurements include combustion efficiency, excess air, oxygen normalization, loss and total NOx.

A wide range of sample probe types and lengths are available to accommodate many different measurements and assure that they are taken at the optimal position with the stack. The analyzer is easy to operate: simply turn it on, connect the probe and begin taking measurements. An advanced sample conditioning system assures high accuracy and 0.1 ppm measurement resolution. Dual rechargeable batteries provide up to eight hours of continuous use.

The Lancom 4 utilizes a unique built-in remote communication capability that allows the analyzer to be upgraded in the field when application requirements change.
