Summary

Silicon photonics has reached an inflection point, especially as AI is at the forefront. Its success depends on the promise that it’s a semiconductor technology, capable of scaling to semiconductor fabs quantities. This webinar looks to address the manufacturing plans of Photonic ICs by semiconductor fabs and how the photonics industry can transfer its processes to the semiconductor industry.

The speaker will discuss the challenge facing data centers, foundries, and GPU providers to use optics and optical interconnects to improve data rates, while significantly lower energy use and latency. He will also discuss the key market applications where the success of silicon photonics can make a meaningful difference.
