Flow cytometry instrumentation developer Cytek Biosciences (Fremont, CA) has developed and demonstrated a 40-color panel from a single sample using its Aurora advanced flow cytometry system. The flow cytometer's technology, which is inspired by the telecom industry, enables a larger choice of dyes and specificities that can be run in order to study a large panel of heterogenous cells one by one.

The flow cytometry market continues to expand rapidly and reach an estimated $8.92 billion globally by 2026, notes Dr. Wenbin Jiang, CEO of Cytek Biosciences. “High-quality 40-color data makes in-depth insights and statistically powerful numbers from rare sample populations possibleand accelerates the pace of scientific discovery,” he adds.

The Aurora flow cytometer is available with up to five lasers to enable analyzing up to 40 markers simultaneously in one sample, achieving high resolution for each individual marker. It also provides the ability to extract sample autofluorescence and highly multiplexed high-quality data from one test.
