Dispersive infrared (IR) spectrometers for the longwave-infrared wavelength range come with application-specific diffraction gratings for measuring and tuning specific wavelengths.

Dispersive infrared (IR) spectrometers for the longwave-infrared (LWIR; 8-14 µm) wavelength range come with application-specific diffraction gratings for measuring and tuning specific wavelengths. Grating groove density and optimum blaze wavelengths range from 200 nm to 20 µm. Gold, silver, and other optical coatings enhance performance in the IR.
