The Synapse EM deep-cooled, EMCCD scientific camera for low-light and ultrafast spectroscopy is available in front- and back-illuminated versions. Its sensor measures 1600 × 200 or 1600 × 400 with 16 micron pixels. A standard dual-readout mode allows automatic switching between EMCCD for low-light measurements and CCD mode for standard spectroscopy.
