PRESS RELEASE

The new ORION™ Benchtop Laser Source is designed for scientific and R&D applications that require high stability and ultra low noise operation. Like its OEM counterpart, RIO’s ORION Benchtop Laser Source operates in the C-Band from 1530-1565nm with output power up to 20mW, very low noise and RIN, and ultra narrow linewidth (less than 3 kHz).

This fully integrated and compact solution provides end users with an option to thermally tune the laser’s frequency via USB, and also obtain fast frequency modulation from DC to 100 kHz via a BNC connector on the unit’s front panel. Potential markets are in laser spectroscopy, coherent communications, remote sensing, acoustic fiber optic monitoring, LIDAR and other precision metrology applications.
